Summer 2014

Hi Tony,

Thanks again for letting us rent Lady Slipper Lodge. It was awesome! You have a beautiful house on an amazing property. It's so cool that you have so much privacy on the lakes. The weather was great also. We had a great time fishing. We caught crappie, pan fish, bass and northern pike. I even caught a 30" northern pike, which was awesome! The kids loved using the paddle boat, going out to the swimming raft and jumping into the water. And we loved using the canoes, fishing boat and especially the pontoon! We had big soccer game on the lawn, adults vs the kids. The kids won 10-6. :) Everything was great Tony! We loved everything about your property and house. It's beautiful up there!

Thank you for being a pleasure to work with and for everything else Tony!

Summer 2013
Tony,
It was magical. We had a blast. I've been meaning to write and thank you.
Thanks for the use of your poles. I repaired the tips of both - one was already taped and I glued a new tip on and the other had a tip that had a divot that was stripping the line.
I've cc'd my wife so she has your info - we'd like to return next summer.

BTW - we caught several 3+ lb bass and one night couldn't keep the crappie off the line - in the paddleboat even!

September 2012 - Awesome Autumn Retreat

We had a very enjoyable stay at Lady Slipper Lodge in early September. This well-kept, high quality cabin has a unique setting on its own peninsula, with great walking trails through the woods. As you drive that last mile or so through the woods to reach the cabin, you'll feel like you are truly surrounded by nature, but with the comforts of home. In addition to fishing, there is plenty of yard space outside for lawn games. And the game room in the basement is great for evenings or rainy days. Even though you feel like you are secluded in your own private place, the town of Remer is an easy drive where you can find pretty much anything you need. Last but not least, the owner is pleasure to deal with, and very responsive to questions. Thanks Tony!

November 2011

We were able to pick up four deer this year with a couple of missed opportunities and close calls. We cleaned the cabin before we left and I am sure you will find it acceptable. Please keep our damage deposit as next year's rental deposit. The only change is that we are planning on coming up sooner. Some of the guys would like to try some fishing and duck hunting before we deer hunt. So much to do in the north woods. Thank you for allowing us to use Lady Slipper Lodge. We look forward to next year.

July 2011- Amazing Lake Getaway

We had an amazing family getaway at the Lady Slipper Lodge. The Lodge itself was beautiful. The views from inside the cabin were amazing and the pictures on the site don't do it justice, beautiful large picture windows and cabin decor. There were all the amenities of home, which made it very comfortable for all of us. Tony was very very easy to work with and answered every email or phone call the same day, making us feel very secure in the large amount of money we were sending him :) Our family enjoyed the pontoon and seclusion on the lake. The entire time we were there we only saw one other boat on the lake! The fishing was amazing too, lots and lots of northern were caught by all. The lodge had a great fish cleaning station outside which made it very convenient to clean all those fish! There were also tons and tons of trails to go walking on or to take your 4-wheeler on. The seclusion of this cabin really fit our needs and was amazing. There were only two downfalls to this getaway: 1. The insane amount of flying creatures. Bring your bug spray and you might want to get some "yard guard" if you plan to use the fire pit as it was impossible without it. 2. The second would be the water pressure in the house. If you're an avid showerer you'll be disappointed, as the water pressure in the house is lackluster, but we didn't mind too much as we were "roughing it" for the week :) Our entire family enjoyed it so much we hope to make a yearly trip to the Lady Slipper Lodge!

I want to thank you for the wonderful stay we had at your place last week. I cannot remember the last time I was so relaxed after a vacation! We had good luck with fishing and the weather was great. My brother-in-law caught a 38" Northern and I caught 4-5 nice-sized bass. I also thought we were going to have to leave my dog there as he was addicted to riding the pontoon when we went fishing. It was so funny to have him on the boat. He would wag his tail every time someone had a fish on their line and he would watch intently as the lures were thrown out.

The Lady Slipper Lodge is perhaps the most appealing place on earth! This remarkable spot offers something for everyone. Our family had so much fun swimming, fishing, hiking, bird watching, four wheeling, paddle boating and taking in the glorious fantastic panoramic views of the lakes and forestry. We only wish we had booked the lodge for longer than a week to keep the fun going just a little longer!!

3/29/08 - 3/31/08
The lake still has 30 inches of ice. Some poeple braved the very windy weather and caught some sunnies and a few crappies. We saw deer and two trumpeter swans. The logging roads were off and on snowy, muddy and dry. The four-wheeling was great!

3/17 - 3/31/08
Thank you -we had an enjoyable and peaceful visit. Your lodge is simply beautiful and the surrounding area is very relaxing. If only it weren't so far from home we would be frequent visitors!

3/14/08 - 3/16/08
The ice was nearly too deep for the auger. Fishing was slow. We enjoyed kareoke at the Anchorage.

1/4 - 1/6/08
We had fun playing game, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. The crappies cooperated too. The northerns were hitting the tip-ups also.

9/28/07
Perfect weather. Three grouse for supper.

9/12 - 9/23
The leaves are peak and it was a perfect weekend for 4-wheeling and fishing and grouse hunting. Dan caught some bass and Ben shot a grouse.

9/15 - 9/22
This was a beautiful place to stay.We toured the area and found lots a neat little places like Itasca Moccasins at lake George, Itasca State park, and the Tioga Mine by grand Rapids. we saw eagles fly over every day and we really enjoyed the fireplace in the evenings.

8/31 - 9/3
Perfect weather. We caught some bass early in the morning and rode ATV's to Lookout Mountain by Grand Rapids in the afternoon.

8/14 - 8/21
Thank you for letting us use this great cabin. The lodge is big enough for all of us. We really enjoyed the trails and picking all the ripe berries. The fishing was slow at first, but in a day or two it was great and we were getting northern, two huge bass, one thousand sunnies and with the help of your crappie tactic video we got some of them too. We loved the area and went biking, running, hiking, swimming, and more. Our two dogs loved running all over this huge area of land. We hope we can come again next year.

8/12
Heard a timber wolf last night.

7/28 - 8/3
Thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home with our family. We felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. You can tell your home is loved. The weather was incredible and the fishing was amazing. We saw a baby moose, a timber wolf, beaver and lots and lots of deer. We are definitely looking forward to coming back next year.

7/12 - 7/27
Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. We took a day trip to the headwaters of the Mississippi and we also toured the Forest History Museum in Grand Rapids. we also took our 2 and 4 year olds to Mable Lake to swim at the sandy beach. It was perfect for them. Our older kids loved swimming off the end our your dock. we caught many sunnies and crappies. We heard loons and wolves and got a great view of the stars.

7/14 - 7/19
Thank you so much for this beautiful cabin. The lodge was fully equipped with everything we could possible need. The beds are very comfortable. We caught a 36" northern. We enjoyed the camp fires, canoe rides and paddle boating. The cabin made our family reunion the best.

7/7 - 7/13
What a beautiful spot for a 3-generation family vacation. The Lady Slipper Lodge was lovely and perfect for our week. We especially liked the loons calling each other, the beautiful sunsets and the peaceful trails.
A nice sized beaver swam alongside our boat last night. We hope to come again sometime.

7/6 - 7/7
At about 10:30 p.m., we were treated to the sound of about 6 timber wolves howling in the distance from across the lake. We went fishing at 5:30 a.m. and used the electric trolling motor while we casted for bass and northerns. It was peaceful and beautiful as the mist blew off the lake. We caught a 3lb and a 4lb northern and another 3 lb bass. We watched 6 loons gather for their ritual morning chat before the all flew off to parts unknown. Don't worry , they'll be back tomorrow.

6/30 - 7/6
Our family had a great week at your lake. The fishing, swimming and boating kept us busy and our golden retriever loved the water too. You truly thought of everything that makes it so nice when traveling far from home. You provided everything we wanted an more- its a very nice property. We could have stayed for a month. We saw several deer, a beaver, some loons and a young fox. Thank you for a wonderful family vacation.
